Gold Travel Achievers - Overview
Our children ensure we have safe and sustainable travel to and from work. This has involved posters and information for parents to highlight the importance of walking (or part walking) to school and not idling (switching off engines) if parking near to school. Scooter clubs for our younger children and Bikeability training for our older pupils further promotes safe, sustainable travel. We achieved the highest possible Gold award for sustainable travel from Mode Shifts and were recently acclaimed by Leeds City Council as the most successful sustainable travel school for the year. Raising money in a Walk-a-thon event secured funding for new scooter and bike shelters for use by the children in order to secure and protect the children’s transport.
